Optimal Addiction Recovery

From the desk of Virginie Tokha, MSN, CRNP, FNP
For years, I've had the privilege of working with patients in various capacities. My passion for addiction medicine began during a nursing school rotation at an addiction treatment center. Over time, I found myself particularly drawn to those balancing demanding careers or dedicating themselves to caring for others.
When you're overwhelmed with endless tasks, your well-being often suffers. Days become weeks, weeks turn into months, and years can pass before you realize it. You might have developed unhealthy habits, perhaps including substance abuse as a way to unwind. Then, one day, you have a wake-up call and decide that enough is enough. That's where I can help.
Consider what you could accomplish if you directed even a portion of the dedication, commitment, and resilience you invest in your career or family toward your recovery. With the appropriate strategy and support, you can take back control of your life and achieve or maintain sobriety. I make an effort to understand your specific challenges so that we can confront them together. Because I recognize that a regular 9-to-5 schedule isn't suitable for everyone, I don't adhere to one.
I ask that you commit to the customized strategy that we develop together. Adhere to it, have faith in the procedure, and persevere. Addictions can be treated, and with expert assistance, you can have a fulfilling and healthy life.
